Dinner and a Camaro

Saturday morning we took the girls to get their soccer pictures taken. As soon as we got back Shane said he had to run a few errands and he and Erik left. They didn't tell us where they were going only that they would be back in a few hours. So Hollyann and I took the girls to lunch and then to the park. When we got home they went down for a nap and I still hadn't heard from the guys. They finally called at 3 and said they'd be a little bit longer. We had dinner reservations at a cool place downtown and we were going to leave at 5 so I was just hoping they would be back in time to get themselves changed! Colie got here at 5 and the boys showed up right after her. We went outside to take some pictures before we left and Shane pulled up in a yellow Camaro. It was so cool! I couldn't even believe it! He and Erik had driven all the way to Atlanta to rent a Camaro for the weekend. I really really love the look of the Camaro but I had never even been in one. Shane wanted my 30th birthday to be really memorable and it was! We took pictures by the cool car and then left for dinner. We went to Frog Hollow Tavern and it was amazing! Everything they serve is local and organic so their menu changes all the time. We got a bottle of wine and a couple appetizers. For dinner I ordered grouper and risotto, Shane got steak with asparagus and Erik and Hollyann got pork shoulder with mac & cheese. The best mac & cheese ever by the way...gouda cheese and lasagna noodles...whoa! We also had vanilla almond creme brule and lemon rind cheesecake. Yum!

On our way home from dinner I decided that I wanted to drive the camaro. I told Shane I wanted a turn and he pulled over on the freeway and we switched seats. Seriously...so. much. fun!! I took off my heals and drove with bare feet.  It was so easy to go really fast. The freeway was pretty empty so I got it up to 100 mph! The guys were chanting faster, faster but as soon as I hit 100 I put the breaks on. All I could think about was getting a ticket! It was so fun. Totally crazy and so fun. :)

Bowling

We took the girls bowling on Friday. None of them had ever bowled before and I had a coupon. :) We did a bumper lane for the girls and then we played on the lane next to them. It was pretty fun. Heidi would roll the ball so slow that it would literally bounce off the pins when it finally got to the end of the lane! She also threw the ball into the lane next to her...I still don't know how cause she could barely lift the ball. Natalie did really well...she even got a spare! I actually did really well too. Haven't bowled in years but I still beat the boys. :)

Savannah Trip

This was really the best week ever! Last Tuesday I picked up my best friend Hollyann, her husband Erik and her daughter Savannah at the Atlanta airport. We had a great week of hanging out and having fun. This was the first time our families were able to really spend time together and after a week of being together 24/7 we are ready to do it again!
So the first thing we all did together was go to Savannah. Hollyann was born in Savannah and named her daughter Savannah so she really wanted to go back. The girls watched movies the whole way there, thanks to Erik's iPad. We went on the Old Town Trolley Tour which I highly recommend to anyone who is visiting the area. It takes you all over the city, giving you information and history about the area and you can get on and off all day. We got the girls ice cream, let them play in the park, had a fun lunch, bought souvenirs and did plenty of walking. The girls were so good and really exhausted by the end of the day. Heidi was asleep within 5 minutes of driving home. :)
First stop on the trolly was ice cream cones!
My cute Natalie...she really loved petting the horse!
Savannah taught Natalie how to do the monkey bars! She was so excited to be big like Savannah!
Family shot with the girls not cooperating. :)
The girls wanted to sit together on their own bench
Savannah was helping Natalie read the ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise bottles
Natalie, Savannah and Heidi...they got along so well this trip! They all played nicely together and didn't leave anyone out. It was perfect!

Kid Photography

This week is spring break and we haven't done anything exciting. This morning the girls were being really cute and the weather was just beautiful so I took the girls to the park so we could all be photographers. I told them we would take turns being photographer and models. They were so excited to get to use my camera! I would put the strap around their neck so they wouldn't accidentally drop the camera and then help them focus the lens. Natalie liked to take the picture with Heidi far away and Heidi liked to take the picture of Natalie up close.  I got a couple cute shots of the both of them and they got some pretty cute shots of each other.  They really didn't like being IN the pictures so we didn't last very long but I think we might try it again.
These are the pictures Heidi took of Natalie...

Heidi really didn't want her picture taken!!
Here are the pictures I took of the girls...

I also tried this cool thing I found on pinterest. I put the camera around my neck and set the self timer, then I spun the girls around. Heidi's turned out perfect but when I spun Natalie around the camera kept moving around so her's was kinda off. :)

The Arsenal

Natalie, Heidi and Nokie are all on the same soccer team this year and they had their first game last night. It was so cute! Natalie was a little shy at first. She didn't want to take the ball from anyone. But the second half she remembered she was supposed to take it away from the other team and she did awesome. She made 3 goals. :) Heidi had a blast! She has some pretty good moves for her first time playing. Her only problem is that after she would snag the ball from the other team and then whip around to kick it toward her goal, she would look up to see if we were watching her and then wave. While she did that someone else would take the ball back. It was very fun to watch. :) Nokie did well too. She chased the ball all over the field and even kicked it a few times. Pretty good for her very first time.
I took some pictures of the girls before the game
Heidi was trying to do the same pose but couldn't keep her balance.
 But she got it. :)
This was the pose they came up with

She wasn't afraid to get right in the mix
This is her..."Are you watching me" look....the one that distracts her from the ball!

Nokie did so good!
